NBSTC service to Sagarmela

COOCH BEHAR, Jan. 9: For the first time the North Bengal State Transport Corporation is going to offer a Sagarmela special service as a part of its religious tourism drive. Thirty-four pilgrims are ready for the journey that starts tomorrow.

NBSTC sources said the bus would reach Mayapur on Sunday. It will be at Sagarmela for three days (12-14 January). During its return journey it will go to Dakshineswar and Belur Math on 15 January and on the next day it will get back to Cooch Behar. A guide will also accompany them. The entire seven-day package will cost a passenger Rs 2,200 only. At Sagarmela they will be accommodated without any additional cost at Loknath Mission's camp for three days.

The divisional manager of NBSTC's Cooch Behar division, Mr Subrata Biswas said the NBSTC initiated its tourism service in 2005. Already it introduced services to neighbouring countries like Bhutan and Nepal. Now, the newly introduced special religious tour to Sagarmela added another feather to its crown, he believes. []
