Jail warder's complaint against SDO

 

COOCH BEHAR, Nov. 4: A warder of Mathabhanga Sub-divisional Correctional Home, Md Mobarak Ali submitted a complaint of assault against the sub-divisional officer of Mathabhanga, Mr Anidya Kar. In the complaint submitted at Mathabhanga police station he alleged that the SDO has slapped and assaulted him in his chamber today. When asked, the district magistrate of Cooch Behar Mr Rajesh Kumar Sinha said they received a complaint and a probe was initiated into the allegation.

 

Trinamul Shramik Congress leader Md Alizar Rahman alleged that when the SDO rang to the jail today a telephonic hot exchange occurred between him and the warder. Then he called the warder in his office chamber and slapped him. He also beat the man mercilessly to teach him a lesson for his alleged misbehaviour. The warder took seriously ill and was referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, Mr Rahaman said. Trinamul Shramik Congress will observe Black Day tomorrow and organise demonstration against the SDO in Mathabhanga.

 

Mathabhanga SDPO Mr Ananda Roy said police received a complaint over the allegation. Cooch Behar DM Mr Rajesh Kumar Sinha too admitted receiving of a complaint and said a probe was ordered into the matter. On the otherhand, the SDO denied the allegation brought against him. []
