CBWE PROGRAMME

Training programme for unorganised workers

 

COOCH BEHAR, Nov. 6: Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE) conducted a one-day training programme for unorganised workers at Ghughumari in Cooch Behar today. Sixty women associated mostly with weaving of Shital Paati (cool mat) participated in the daylong programme. Education officer of the CBWE, Mr AC Lahiri conducted the programme.

 

Various skill development programme for upliftment of workers in unorganised sector and employment generation schemes were discussed at the training programme  

 

A similar programme for rural sector workers was held at Godhulibazar in Dinhata yesterday where sixty persons participated. Mr Lahiri and other speakers discussed various government schemes under horticulture for upliftment of rural poor and technology of maize production.

 

CBWE education officer Mr Lahiri said the CBWE under ministry of labour and employment conducts various training programmes for the organised, unorganised and rural sector workers through 50 regional directorates located in different parts of the country. The regional directorate at Siliguri conducts the training programmes in six districts of north Bengal and in Sikkim. []
