Bandh against CPM atrocities

 

COOCH BEHAR, July 9: The Trinamul Congress sponsored bandh passed off peacefully at Natabari in Tufanganj today. The bandh was called to protest against alleged atrocities done by the CPI-M and the police jointly on Trinamul Congress supporters.

 

Vice-president of district Trinamul Congress, Mr Niranjan Dutta alleged that the CPI-M unleashed a reign of terror in the rural areas in Tufanganj sub-division especially after the panchayat elections because the Trinamul Congress candidates defeated the CPI-M candidates at many places.

 

"We observed the daylong bandh today at Natabari to stage protest against the atrocities of the CPI-M and police", Mr Dutta said. The administration should take strict measures to stop such incidents otherwise the Trinamul Congress would not hesitate to retaliate, he warned. []
