Timber seized

 

COOCH BEHAR, April 3: Acting on a tip-off a team of Cooch Behar Social Forestry Division officials intercepted a Dinhata bound pick-up van at Marapora Dighi Chaupathi in Cooch Behar town on Thursday afternoon and seized sawn Sal and Teak timber worth Rupees one-lakh. The vehicle was also seized. Cooch Behar ADFO (SF) Mr SK Baroi said one person was arrested from the spot in connection with illegal trade of timber. Legal action is being taken against the arrested man, he said. []
