Cultural programme at border

 

COOCH BEHAR, Oct. 16: In order to strengthen the cordial relation and mutual trust with border population, a cultural programme was organized by 113 Bn BSF of Cooch Behar Sector at Jhaukuti border outpost yesterday.  BSF Jazz Band from North Bengal Frontier Headquarters presented the programme.  More than three thousand civilians residing in remote border villages of Jhaukuti, Madhya Balabhut, Satarasal and Agmani assembled at the local primary school ground at Jhaukuti to witness the programme. Local singers too participated in the programme.

 

Mr Ajit Sudevan, Commandant of the 113 Bn inaugurated the cultural programme. He assured the locals of all possible assistance in border areas.  The sabhapati of the local Panchayat Samity, Ms Dipali Roy also addressed the gathering and assured the BSF of all co-operations in border management.  She requested for organising such programme in future, as it will go a long way in developing a sense of security and mutual trust among the border population and the BSF. []
