Seven-day 'Greatest Show' starts on Tuesday 

COOCH BEHAR, OCT. 27: The seven-day long Diwali Utsav, cultural programme along with Cooch Behar district and Dinhata sub-divisional bodybuilding, power-lifting, weightlifting and Yogasana championship will begin at Mahamaya-Pat in Dinhata, Cooch Behar from tomorrow. Byayam Bidyalaya is the organiser of this programme acclaimed as 'Greatest Show'. It is the 48th year of the programme.

 

Secretary general of Byayam Bidyalaya Mr Bibhu Ranjan Saha said a top bodybuilder of the country, Mr Avijit Dan who earned Mr Asia and Mr India titles will come from Nasik to demonstrate his bodybuilding skills at the deciding round of the championship on 1 November. Quiz competition and cultural programme will also be there as added attractions. 

The Kali puja pandal of Byayam Bidyalaya is being constructed taking the theme from Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay's great literary work Kapalkundala. A renowned artist Mr Rathin Saha is now busy in implementing the theme with artworks and models. The outer look of the pandal is also attractive. It is being constructed as a chariot. Visitors will have to board the chariot to see the idol of Goddess Kali. []
