Trainee teachers on warpath

 

COOCH BEHAR, Sept. 18: The members of the All Bengal Primary Teachers' Trainee Association (ABPTTA) staged a roadblock along Keshav Road in Cooch Behar today. Traffic movement was heavily disrupted during the agitation. They lifted the agitation after police intervention. Before leaving they handed over a memorandum addressed to the state school education minister through the police officer on duty.

 

Later, the ABPTTA members staged a demonstration at the office of the chairman of the district primary school council and submitted a memorandum containing four-point of charter of demands to the chairman, Md Nuruddin Mian.

 

ABPTTA president Mr Bhajan Barman said they organised today's programme demanding appointment of trained candidates in all vacant posts of primary teachers in different primary schools in this state. They also demanded assurance of appointment of all trained teachers and starting of new academic session in the Primary Teachers Training Institutes. []
