Entry level coaching to start at Cooch Behar College

 

COOCH BEHAR, June 1: Cooch Behar College is going to introduce science stream from the new academic session. The students will be able to study here with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science. The admission procedure will begin on and from 23 June and application forms will be issued from tomorrow. Thirty students may be able to get admission in the newly introduced science stream, college sources said.

 

Presently, there are Honours courses in subjects like Geography, Bengali, History, Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit and Accountancy in this college. In 2007, the first and second rankers of Geography in North Bengal University came out from this college, the principal of the college Mr Pankaj Kumar Debnath claimed.

 

Cooch Behar College got the required grant to launch entry level coaching from the new session. Under this facility one hundred students will be able to receive expert guidance to get ready for the different competitive examinations of state and Central governments. Ex-students and others may also avail this facility.

 

Moreover, Cooch Behar College is ready to launch UGC sponsored remedial coaching classes for one hundred students from SC, ST and minority communities. The career-oriented programme (COP) is also running in this college for the past years in Women Studies, Communicative English, Eco-tourism and Computer Applications. The students can join in the COP together with their degree courses, the principal said. []
