Farmers on warpath
COOCH BEHAR, Feb. 19: Members of Aloo-Pat-Dhan Chashi Sangram Committee detained the Alipurduar-Bamanhat passenger train at Cooch Behar railway station today. They also staged a roadblocade at Station Morh. Later, the farmers demonstrated at the district agriculture office.
Secretary of APDCSC Mr Nripen Karjee said they organised today's programme to demand payment against crop insurance to the affected potato growers and waiving of agricultural loans.
