FB rally starts for Kolkata

 

COOCH BEHAR, Jan. 28: A Kisan Jatha (peasants' rally) left for Kolkata from Dinhata today. It will attend the gathering to be held in Kolkata on 5 February. The gathering will be organised there to commemorate the five martyrs who died in police firing on 5 February last year in Dinhata. District Youth League president Mr Abdur Rauf said a Yuva Jatha (youth rally) will also join the gathering.

 

State food and supply minister Mr Paresh Adhikary flagged off the rally at Dinhata today. Prior to that the persons who received injuries in the police firing and the family members of the five martyrs were felicitated in a brief programme. Cooch Behar MP Mr Hiten Barman, Mr Nripen Roy and other senior Forward Bloc leaders attended the programme.
