Stir plan adopted at AIYL council meet

COOCH BEHAR, Dec. 7: The Cooch Behar district council meeting of the All India Youth League (AIYL) was held at Nishiganj in Cooch Behar today. Senior AIYL and Forward leaders addressed at the gathering that was organised as the open session of the meet this afternoon.

 

Cooch Behar (West) MLA and Forward Bloc's state secretariat member Mr Akshoy Thakur inaugurated the council meet at noon today. Cooch Behar MP (Lok Sabha) Mr Hiten Barman, state AIYL general secretary Mr Anirban Chaudhury and district FB secretary Mr Udayan Guha attended the programme. Cooch Behar district unit president of the AIYL Md Abdur Rauf presided over the council session.

 

In the meeting several resolutions were adopted aiming to strengthen the organisation. It was decided that movements will be organised demanding employment of unemployed youths, restoration of healthcare services in government hospitals for the benefit of poor people, revival of sick industrial units, launching of self-employment schemes and filling up of all vacant posts in the government departments.

 

The ongoing political situation in the state as well as in the country was also discussed with much importance. The issues like terrorism and separatism were also discussed.

 

In the open session the AIYL and FB leaders came down heavily on the imperialist designs to weaken the country. They also criticised the state government's policy to appease the industrialists ruining the interests of the farmers in the name of industrialisation. []
