Clash over cattle, 4 hurt

COOCH BEHAR, Nov. 26: Following a clash between villagers and jawans of Border Security Force over allegation of cattle smuggling four villagers have injured at Krishnapur village in Tufanganj this evening. Among the injured Md Azahar Seikh (63) got serious injury on his head and he was shifted to MJN Hospital in Cooch Behar. The situation restored to normalcy after a tripartite meeting among BSF, police and villagers, police sources said.

 

It was learnt that when BSF jawans started seizing cattle from Krishnapur village alleging those brought for smuggling, the villagers resisted. A clash occurred when four villagers were injured. BSF sources claimed that two of their jawans too wounded.
