CPM's protest rally against Trinamul, police

 

COOCH BEHAR, Oct. 16: The CPI-M took out a huge procession in the town today against the alleged terror tactics of the Trinamul Congress and inaction of a section of police. Later, they organised a gathering at Shahid Baag and submitted a memorandum to the superintendent of police. A large number of CPI-M supporters arrived here from different areas of the district to attend the programme.

 

In the gathering at Shahid Baag the CPI-M leaders including district CPI-M secretary Mr Chandi Pal alleged that soon after the three-tier panchayat elections the Trinamul Congress have been unleashed a reign of terror in different areas in the district where their candidates won. Though after such incidents specific complaints were lodged a section of police were found indifferent to the incidents and complaints. It should not go for a long. The police should act accordingly to maintain law and order peaceful, the speakers demanded. []
