Father fires at son

 

COOCH BEHAR, Oct. 12: The youth who was shot at on Friday night by his father is recovering at MJN Hospital in Cooch Behar.

 

It was learnt that Ashis Barman (25) returned to their residence at deep of the night on Friday after the immersion ceremony. He went to participate in the immersion ceremony of the local club. He is a resident of Dakshin Ambari village under Baneswar Gram Panchayat in Cooch Behar-II block. When he failed to enter through the closed front door he tried to enter the house through the backside of the house. At that time his father, Phanindra Barman (77), a retired employee of the NBSTC, who was inside the house, opened fire from his licensed gun taking Ashis as a thief. When it was found that the injured man was none but a member of the family he was shifted to MJN Hospital.

 

At the hospital the doctors removed the bullet from the injured man's abdomen. He is now recovering. The police seized the gun and started a probe into the incident. []
