Thana Gherao stir

 

COOCH BEHAR, Sept. 9: Trinamul Congress supporters organised a daylong 'thana gherao' programme at Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar today. The programme was organised to stage protest against ongoing atrocities done on Trinamul supporters by the CPI-M and the police. Senior Trinamul leader Mr Niranjan Dutta alleged that the police are arresting Trinamul supporters on false and fabricated charges. The law and order situation is also deteriorating in this district. Mr Dutta also said that they will gherao the district magistrate's office on 25 September demanding withdrawal of the false cases brought against Trinamul supporters. []
