Hunger strike ends

 

COOCH BEHAR, July 11: On the fifth day of their indefinite hunger strike, the members of Cooch Behar District Ex-servicemen Association (CDEA) withdrew the strike on Friday evening. They started the hunger strike since Monday at Shahid Baag in Cooch Behar in support of their 12-point charter of demands including formation of a Sainik Board for the welfare of ex-servicemen.

 

Secretary of the CDEA, Mr Tapan Choudhury said they agreed to withdraw the hunger strike following assurance from the district administration over fulfilling of their demands. []
