Union's demand

 

COOCH BEHAR, June 2: In support of their eight-point charter of demands the Cooch Behar Municipality Workers' Union submitted a memorandum to the chairman of the civic body today. Copies of the memorandum were also sent to other authorities concerned.

 

General secretary of the CBMWU Mr Sudhangshu Kumar Neogi said they demanded absorption of all casual workers engaged in different civic services since 1995 in the vacant posts. They also demanded approval of the posts sanctioned by the civic body. The Left Front government kept the process pending for political motivation, he alleged. Developmental works in municipal area should be done by no other agency but the civic body itself, he demanded. []
