Six blocks affected in storm

 

COOCH BEHAR, May 9: A massive storm lashed a number of villages in six blocks of the district yesterday. About 2-lakh people were affected. A few persons were injured. About 3,000 dwellings completely and 2,500 dwellings were partially damaged during the nature's fury. The most affected village is Uchulpukuri in Mekhliganj where about 500 dwellings were damaged. The district administration sent a detailed report on the storm and its after-effect to the state government today. Relief materials being distributed among the affected persons, a senior official said. []
