Rebels file nominations

 

COOCH BEHAR, April 18: As the Forward Bloc and the CPI-M failed to reach to a consensus over sharing of 29 seats in the Zilla Parishad tier, two FB candidates filed nominations for two disputed seats today. Both the parties agreed to contest jointly in 27 ZP seats but they are yet to decide about the fate of remaining two seats – Bhetaguri-Putimari and Chandamari. Today, Ms Manira Chisti filed her nomination for Bhetaguri-Putimari seat and Mr Gajern Roy for Chandamari seat. District FB secretary Mr Udayan Guha said, they might withdraw these two candidates if they reach to an understanding with the CPI-M in the seventh bipartite meeting to be held on 21 April. It may be recalled that the FB yesterday submitted nominations in nine allotted ZP seats. []
