Interview disrupted due to agitation

 

COOCH BEHAR, July 4: The recruitment test for different vacancies in agri-mech division under state water resources development department was disrupted for two-and-half hours in Cooch Behar today. The recruitment process resumed at 1 p.m. after intervention of Cooch Behar ADM (General) Mr Pannalal Mahapatra.

 

It was learnt that 2669 unemployed youths submitted their applications for twenty vacancies in the agri-mech division. Among the applicants 330 were called for interview today. Other candidates alleged that the recruitment process was not fair enough and in protest they staged demonstration in front of the interview venue. Due to demonstration the recruitment process was disrupted that was scheduled to start at 10-30 a.m. On getting information senior officials including Cooch Behar ADM (G) Mr Mahapatra rushed to the spot. The ADM (G) assured the agitating candidates that he would look into their allegation of gross irregularity done in the recruitment process. After his assurance the interview resumed at 1 p.m. []
